Jacob Matthew Baldy is a filmmaker and writer from Durham, New Hampshire. He graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Filmmaking from Montclair State University in 2021, honing his creative and technical skills as a storyteller, director, and editor.
Currently, he is the Lead Video Editor at WMUR-TV, New Hampshire’s top local news and media outlet based in Manchester, NH. He is responsible for editing and producing high-quality and engaging video content for multiple platforms, including TV, web, and social media. There, he has been able to collaborate with reporters, producers, and directors to ensure that every story is delivered and presented in a clear and visually engaging way.
Outside of TV, Baldy’s diverse portfolio of work ranges from short films to documentaries, and web series. He is best known for his award-winning work on his 2021 short film, “Ryn,” which took home over 20 awards from festivals across the globe, including the 2022 Lonely Wolf International Film Festival. He also contributed to the New York Shakespeare Exchange’s U.S.-based “Sonnet Project,” a web series that adapts Shakespeare’s sonnets into contemporary settings and contexts.
In his free time, Baldy is an avid moviegoer and screenwriter, who enjoys crafting original stories that reflect his unique vision and voice. He is also a proud cat dad.
